Skating Eastern with Gabi--

Shredding with the Gab was always fun cause she always really pushes herself. The girl really knows how to pay the man both on land, and in the water. Always made me try harder; kinda hard not to when you look over and see a pretty girl girl space crash from the pool coping of a ten foot vert bowl, then get up and do it again, and again. This was her second time skating eastern, and first time dropping in. She finally gets a nice little pocket slash in the end...

Pic

Trying to figure out how to properly get on the rocket-ship--you just can't do that because there is no proper way--you just grab some stuff and get on the rocket and ask someone to hurry up and light the fuse before you slip off. I'm thinking too much.

Picture of the day

Well it's been forever since I've put anything up on here and that's mainly because I've been having too much fun with christmas and all--everyone is around and there's stuff to do, not to mention some really fun tubular swells.

Also, I've been having a spot of trouble trying to come up with the right name for this blog thing, I like the name now, but the domain is taken, so it has to be plural, as in caveman"s"chronicles, which is no big deal, but it was bothering me so I was trying to come up with other names such as...

The Copper Sailboat
OUT FOX THE CURL
Flight of the Navigator
Victory at Sea
and ,
The Gnarwhale
but, ofcourse most of these were taken--which pissed me off for two reasons, one; someone out there is possibly more creative than me, and two; they're not using them. But it's all good cause I like the running name--I think it feels right.

Anyway just to try to post more often, I'm going to try to put up a picture everyday, I've got a serious archive here dating back all the way to the late eighties--I plan on trying to "explain" each picture a bit, maybe embellish a little, so check it out, you might just see yourself...

Say hi to Gimp and Slug--my other brothers.

There are many, many things I could say about these two, but for now I will just stick to the picture. They are at the famous Ternoski's (I don't know how to spell that stuff) house in Avalon. The slug is the one on the right, he is very happy because the gimp(one on the left) is rubbing his back. The Gimp is happy because he has been drinking man-beer. Shortly after this picture is taken I will pass out in the bath room and slug will try to revive me by feeding me the contents of that frying pan. This will not work.

Leaving wilmington!

Holy crap, it's 12:o2am, and I'm still throwing stuff into the truck--

So far I have:
A fish tank--an alaia blank--an alaia--a speed bike, 4 surfsticks-1sickfish-1gunnystepup-1lilshredder-andonesuperretro--I also have all of my clothes--spearfishing equipment--scuba gear including my new bc--1external hard drive, some speakers, some wax, and a bunch of other stuff, including my mac as soon as I'm done uploading some new music to my i-pod

I guess I'm going to try to leave around 4, but I'm pretty tired right now, so we'll see how that pans out, but all in all I think I feel good about this, It's almost like getting on a rollercoaster that may, or may not be broken.

I've got some cool stuff, to say and show about wilmington, especially about Jaime and Carol+Camille, we just had some pizza and they bought me some beers and a book--but I'll just have to get to that later cause I need some sleep--here's a sick pic from the long forgotten summer taken by none other than the world famous photojournalist, and friend Logan Mock Bunting--

If you can't tell, thats me in the middle of Jaime and Carol--playing the third wheel as always with the Hunters on the wreck of the Hyde--were looking at some big grey fishes--you can just barely see the edge of one on the right side there.

Goodbye Wilmington...

..for now...

Cruising Greenfield

Joey and I hit up Greenfield today for a mellow cruise session. I'll probably cut up a proper little film soon, but here's a few clips for now...

Dads Trees

Ok, so I guess for my first post I will go ahead and put up some art--just to get the ball rolling. Check out these cool trees my dad painted a few years years ago...

That little one has been with me for a while, I usually keep it on the door of my bedroom, kind of as a sign to anyone who might want to enter, just letting them know that I like trees, and woods and stuff, plus that like my old man--I'm a bit of a dreamer.
This tree painting has a really cool history--it used to be a teepee. I remember this gnarly brown painting of a teepee sitting on a shelf in the garage at my parents house for years, just sitting there collecting dust, then one day my dad--his name is Emmitt--he pulled it down and started painting on it again. Of course the original painting was his, and he obviously wasn't happy with it cause it had been banished to the garage. He just started painting on the teepee and out came this windy tree. So it hung around their house for a while until a few years ago I snagged it and brought it down to NC, where the Gabbers was kind enough to frame it for me.

It's got a premier spot on a shelf in my bedroom now, and I like to look at it from time to time and pretend I'm in it, maybe on a long journey in search of some ancient treasure and I'm about to stop and take a break under this windy tree.

And as I eat a honey sandwich I look out on the whole world from under the tree and just feel good, like everything is perfect, and I'm so stoked that the treasure I'm seeking is out there for me to seek, and that I'm on an adventure that will never end, and that who knows, once I finish this sweet honey sandwich I might actually climb up the tree and a great big eagle will come and pick me up with his scaly talons and fly me off through the clouds to a place far away--an ocean--the kind with sparkling sunshine on top.

And maybe that eagle will drop me in and I will dive through the clear blue water down deep till it becomes dark emerald green and maybe there will be a big fish down there under all that water and sunshine--a huge barracuda fish--all slimy and toothy, and I will grab on to his back and ride him out across the sea floor till it falls away into a huge under water canyon--the deepest one ever, and we will swim out over the canyon and down into it almost like were flying , like the eagle, but faster and darker, and darker it will get until there will be no more light and still we will swim on, the sleek silver barracuda fish with me on his back, and then suddenly there will be a light down there at the very bottom of the canyon and as we get closer I realize that it is a little phone, a little cell phone and suddenly I'm really sad, because I know that I have to pick it up, I know I have to get down there and pick up that phone and I try to fight the barracuda, but he is too slimy, I can't turn him and I reach out and grab the phone, and I open it up and say "hello," and my brother says, "hey what are you doing," and I have to answer, "nothing, just looking at dads painting."
